The Asian Woman Awards- For Excellence in association with Bank of Ireland a resounding success!
The Asian Woman Awards- For Excellence in association with the Bank of Ireland proved a resounding success with a red carpet glittering with guests and VIP's alike. The Asian Woman magazine hosted event celebrated inspiring and innovative Asians and attracted stars, politicians, dignitaries and a wide variety of celebrities, all glammed up and ready for a night of fun.
Hosted by BBC Asian Network Presenter Adil Ray and our very own Relationship and Travel Columnist Simone Bienne, the awards boasted the support of First Lady Sarah Brown and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Hazel Blears.
The awards ceremony and gala dinner and dance took place at the grand Whitehall Palace in London on the 24th of November and honoured the British Asian community's highest achievers.

Guests at the event were treated to a fantastic line-up of talent and entertainment including an exclusive performance by Andrew Lloyd Webber's leading lady in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Preeya Kalidas. Comedienne Shazia Mirza was on hand to provide some comic relief, and the amazing Asian Woman Catwalk extravaganza wowed the crowd all round with its showcase of latest trends and exquisite Asian fashion fusion.
A glittering night of catwalks and comedy, the ceremony also consisted of a charity auction, with Saira Khan giving a heartfelt speech on behalf of Save the Children.
The worthwhile cause of the Awards mixed with glamour, style and an exclusive after-party made the awards an event that will be remembered in social diaries for months to come.
