The Asian Woman Awards for Excellence 2008 in association with Bank of Ireland was a glittering affair that took place on Saturday 22nd November 2008 at Whitehall Palace Banqueting Hall, right opposite Downing Street in Central London. The night was huge success attended by 300 VIP’s, media and dignitaries. Guests arrived in a range of up-market cars provided by one of the event sponsors Connoisseur Cars.
Dressed to the nines in black tie suits and striking evening gowns and traditional dress, all guests had the privilege of walking the red carpet amidst an array of camera flashes from mainstream and ethnic media who were invited to cover the event. Among the media present were Star news UK, Eastern Eye, Asian Voice, Wedding TV, Prime TV, Gettty Images, Big Pictures and WENN. The Asian Woman Awards for Excellence is such an important event on the social calendar for so many reasons. First and foremost it gives these inspirational men and women who you, the public have voted for the acknowledgment that they deserve. Secondly this event seeks to raise money for charity each year. In 2007 the event charity was Save the Children and this year, it was Crimestoppers. The organisers of The Asian Woman Awards for Excellence, Asian Woman Magazine have been long time supporters of Crimestoppers.
